Ties in HO scale

I cant seem to hid my ties in between the rail i need help??

sometimes when i was running trains on my layout which was then unfinished i found that the track would come apart and i heard a rumor/theory about some tie thing so i thought i would give it a go and i was wondering about how all u guys do it??? yes i would also apprecaite some tips on ballasting my track
