Posted by Anonymous on Monday, September 12, 2005 1:57 PM
Tell me If you want the q of the day to be about trains or if you have any problems whatsoever(in relation to this question) The answer should be posted around 8:00 P.M. ET time. Thanks for taking the poll!

I am not sure but I would say Grover is green, his trash can is silver. Did I get that right? Or was this a train related poll? Oh it was, I think at one time trash was hauled on rail in NY wasn't it?

Stick to trains. This question belongs on the Sesame Street web site instead of here.

How about you don't waste the site with stuff like the "Question of the day?" That way we don't have one more useless thread to skip over when trying to find something useful or interesting to read.

I must say people are being a bit har***o Monto.
On the Other hand, im sorry to say Monto, The question of the day is not catching on. I just request that we keep discussion only on trains.
Starting threads that you want to go for long periods of time dont work, im sorry to say. I realized how stupid and perhaps ambitious I was when I wanted to start a year long Birthday thread.
Enjoy the forums

I think the question of the day is a good idea....IF it is germane. Please keep it related closely to trains out of respect for those of us with whom you'd like to interact, and from whom you'd like more positive responses and feedback.

Respectfully,

Crandell Overton

Good point Crandell, Monto, you could ask a "test/quiz" question such as what was today in railroad history, like the day of the driving of the golden spike, or where it was, lot's of debate over that, those type of questions will peak our interest, the Grover the Grouch question is not for many RR related, but at least I knew the answer [;)]

Nothing wrong with a question of the day. This is however, a model railroad site. Perhaps if you spent some research into a question/quiz regarding railroading, not only will it add to the site, but you might learn something as well. Grover by the way, is blue.

No problem. I dont mind off topic stuff, as it kinda shakes things up, but some here are kinda purists, and there's nothing wrong with that, either.

The Martians landed at Grover's Mill, New Jersey.

Grover Cleveland was the only president of the US ever to be re-elected after losing his bid for a second term the first time.

After that, well, googling on Grover just tails off into non-entities.

If you start looking for Lionels, though, you'll get Lionel Hamton, Lionel Luther, ...

Moral: Stick with trains. Even for us ancients who remember the Cleveland presidencies and the Martian invasion, it's never too late to have a happy childhood.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Doesn't he look friendly?

[swg]

Monto, I was not trying to be harsh, The Q.O.T.D. is a good idea, but like other's have stated, try to keep it to trains. That was really the point of my above post.
