Athearn Genesis Steam Engines--Front Truck Problems

Does anyone know, or know where to go to find out, how to modify the front truck of an Athearn Genesis pacific so it will stay on the track going through switches and crossings? I have sold two mikados, because that front truck is irredemable, but I have a custom-decorated pacific that I would like to keep, but it just will not run in its as-built condition. FYI, all the detailing is on the boiler, and does not affect the front truck.

Being a big fan of Athearn I just might join your forum..I have use Athearn products for many years and am yet to have any problems..I almost didn't buy my Genesis Spartan cab NS SD70s because of the "reported problems"..I guess I got lucky because those two SD70's run like a swiss watch..[:D]

Thanks for the invitation.

In some of my previous threads, I admit, I wrote off buying future Athearn products. However, having seen the quality of their "high end" freight cars and the Genesis F7 units I've had a change of heart.

Plus I read somewhere that Athearn will be producing an SD45-2 and SCL is one of the paint schemes. If it looks as good as a P2K unit, I'm definetly interested. Your forum would provide a good opportunity for detailed feedback.

Cheers!

So my interest
