Kaslo Shops has kits available to make full cowl CN units. I believe you can buy the body kit and mount it on your own frame, or you can also buy a frame from them to fit. Kaslo's product is first rate. While it is expensive, the quality of the castings etc. will not dissapoint.
I am not aware of any commercial models being available for this particular prototype so this would be the only way to go other than a major K-bash. Don't know there web address but a Google search should get you there easy. Check them out. They have lots of great stuff. All Canadian prototype!

Back in the early 1990's, I have seen CP SD40-2's on SP trains in California. Also have seen photos of SP units in Ontario, Canada.

well how often do we see US units in Canada? all the time so then where are rhe CN units well they are down there in the US.

What I meant to say is, Ontario is the only place in Canada where, you can look north and actually see the U.S.

Quick geography lesson in view of RoyalOaker's post! Strictly speaking, everything north of Crescent City, California is north of "Canada", if we consider "Canada" to mean its most southerly part - Point Pelee, Ontario.

it doesnt matter anymore, they are where they need to be. Any time you see a train it may have CN loco mixed in. How far do they go? Any class 1 tracks there is a possibility of it being there.

I've seen CN SD50F's in St. Louis and Toluca, Illinois, on the IC, and CN SD75I's on the former Frisco west of St. Louis.

I am in a suburb of Detroit and we see CN all the time on the GTW Holly sub.

Detroit is the only place that is actually north of Canada. I know they cover most of the Michigan area, but I can't say how far beyond that.

I saw a CN SD50F, or SD60F, a couple of weeks ago. I see neighter CN or CP units of any kind regularly.

I see a lot of CP Rail rolling stock here in Tennessee but it's all pulled by old Conrail power.

I would say the full bodies on CN run system wide now as they are SD50 and 60 models so are not the newest of the new anymore. With IC and WC owned by CN now you do get CN locos down the gulf coast and through the Central US quite regularly not sure bout out west though. Rob

WIDE BODIED LOCOMOTIVES ... how far from Canada do these locomotives run...has anybody ever seen one on Donner Pass or Cajon for example...also how common is it for Canadian locomotives to be in the U S A.... ..thanks peter
