I used the software, "2d railroad architect" by Abracadata to create my 12 x 8 model railroad. I drove the "golden spike" about two weeks ago. If someone would like to have it for their own personal use, request a copy by email. You will need to have the "2d railroad architect".

Ted, I'll take you up on your offer of a sketch if you don't mind me asking. Let me know if that sits well with you and we can take it from there.

Thanks, Gary

Model Railroader also published a book called 101 track plans that has a lot of small plans working on up to larger ones. If you have a larger public library near were youu live, check them out. Mine has a large selection of all kinds of books under MODEL RAILROADING.

There are plenty of plans for small spaces. Any 4x8 can be expanded to fill your area. The april 2001 Model Railroader has three layouts to fit small spaces (under 100 square feet). Also look in the many layout plan book available. You ought to find something that you can use or adapt.
