April 1982 issue of MR, article by John Olson: page 97, has a n i c e set of plans and a materials list for a HO display case. Even has sliding Plexiglass doors... - Matt

The question sounds kinda vauge. What size are you talking like a full wall display or some thing like shelf sized? I've thought about fi***anks fliped upside down to cover layouts. If thats not your cup of tea then maybe building a plexiglas window around the layout. Ive seen at museams, the layouts where in there own "room" to look into. I hope this helps but you need to give more info if not! Icemanmike-Milwaukee
