Where to find drive bands
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, December 8, 2002 12:09 PM
I have been trying to locate drive bands for a Lone Star Treble Olectric train. It is N gauge and has 4 dive bands that run from the split shafted motor that run down around each axle shaft. I tried using different types of materials for this but they do not hold up. Would anyone be able to tell me if they know what I could use for this application.
Thanks for your help.

A long shot...
Ask your Dentist or a local dental supply house for some about some of the very good rubber bands used to tension dental prosthesis (braces. They come in many sizes and namy may be small enough to do the job for your and they are quality bands. But as I said, a long shot.
Good Luck

Doug,
Thanks so much for the reply. I called my brother in law who just happens to be a dentist and he is going to drop some in the mail for me to try. He also thought they would hold up well.
thanks again.
