They are insulated joints for the signal systems and crossing gates.

It could also be some sort of sensor but im not expert at this. I've seen them before except i think they were yellow and grey near my home.

The other day I was going to work and was traveling beside a line of the CSX and noticed something that looked like a track joiner but it was a little bigger and blaze orange. There were a couply of pannels around and not much else. Does any yon know their purpose?
