Does anyone know of a source of how to build a stone arch bridge (HO) such as the ones found in PA. Somewhere I have seen an article to do it, but where ???? TIA Smitty

For an index of articles on arch bridges, try the Index of Magazines at this site...click on Index of Magazines, click on Category, click on 5.0 Structures, click on bridges -arch. There are a lot of articles listed, from modifying cast portals, to scratchbuilding in plaster. My ols favorite is the J.C.Myer "Coolie Canyon" article from MR.
best regards / Mike

The most recent article we've published on this subject was "Model a stone viaduct," by Marc Jasinski, in the October 2002 MODEL RAILROADER, pages 82-85.

The Paul Mallery book on bridges has some ideas for modeling all sorts of bridges.
Years ago (I am thinking 1964-65) there was an article in MR that used styrofoam -- the kind florists use -- covered with some sort of paste to resemble rock.
Of course Chooch and others make very nice premade stone arch fronts

Check the magazine index. Both Malcom Furlow and Jim Findley have articles on building stone arch bridges.
