German-protoype HOn2

Does anyone know where I can find the "HOe" (HOn2)German narrow gauge trains once marketed by (I think) Roco?

Hello WPYR221,

Actually, HOe is the equivalent of HOn30", not H0n2. It was introduced and popularized by Egger-Bahn in the mid-1960s and most closely represents German 750mm gauge equipment. I have a ton of Egger Bahn stuff, though you won't get me to part with it :) I have found it from time to time on ebay, so maybe you could find what you're looking for there if the link Paul provided doesn't work out.

unfortunately, roco has discontinued most of its H0e models. liliput, now a subsidiary of bachmann, offers some austrian-prototype equipment and bemo also used to have some H0e-models. I am not sure if they are still being made...you may want to try www.ebay.de , the german ebay site, to find german H0e rolling stock, locos, and accessories.

AHM back in the 1960s had an HOn2 1/2 line that ran on N track. I assume this is still what we are talking about? PECO has excellent SCALE track for this purpose
Those old AHM sets turn up at swap meets from time to time. They had an american steam switcher and an american plymouth deisel and neat little four wheel cars. Plans for a Maine 2 ft steamer never went anywhere -- they lost interest and literally dumped the sets on the market. I bought mine from AHM itself for about $4!

The supply of Roco HOe models fluctuates; try either www.tee-usa.com, or Reynauld's Euro-Trains (an MR advertiser). Another possibility is Euro Rail Hobbies, a supplier in Vancouver, Canada.

The German firm Bemo also offers German-prototype models based on the Hartzell Railway. Thse come with HOe wheelsets. However, be warned that Bemo is strictly "Mercedes-quality", and is priced accordingly...
