Bachman On30 Sets/ Engines
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, June 6, 2005 5:21 PM
Hello,

I HAD A QUESTION REGARDING THE BACHMAN ON30 STEAMERS. IT HAS BEEN YEARS SINCE I PURCHASED A BACHMAN SET, SINCE I AM A TRUE O-GAUGER. THE LAST BACHMAN ENGINE THAT I PURCHASED WAS A G GAUGE ENGINE WHICH WORKED FINE, HOWEVER THE TRANSFORMER THAT CAME WITH IT WAS NOT BIG ENOUGH TO PUSH IT SINCE AFTER A FEW LAPS AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE, THE TRANSFORMER WOULD HEAT UP, AND THEN SHUT DOWN. THE NEWER ON30 SETS ARE PRETTY ATTACTIVE, AND WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD PURCHASED ONE OF THESE BABIES WITH THE SPECTRUM TRANSFORMER. WOULD APPRECIATIATE ANY INPUT...

THANKS,

jOE

The Bachmann train set (I think there is only one set with passenger cars, but with different decorations) is pretty good, a long way from the old toy train sets that they used to make. The power pack seems to be a good one, although I haven't actually used it for long periods. The set comes with an oval of their EZ track that has plastic ballast and plastic connectors underneath.

I also have one each of their On30 engines, and they are real treats! They offer a Shay and a Climax in their larger engines, and two Porters - an 0-4-0 and an 0-4-2 as well as a siderod equipped Davenport mini diesel.

Seems like you are new to this forum - using all CAPS in a message is considered bad manners on the Internet, taken as SHOUTING. See the difference?

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your input as it is appreciated, and sorry about the caps. I noticed after I had already sent it.

Take Care,

Joe
