The MLRR Needs Your Input (Amtrak Locomotive Related)
Posted by ksax73 on Thursday, June 2, 2005 1:19 AM
This may be geared more towards Amtrak modelers but for those of you who are familiar with Amtrak's E60, you know how the locomotive underwent changes during its service life from the 900 series to the 600 series.

As many of you have seen, the MLRR has 1 operating E60 in service; number 609 and has modified it from the "as-delivered" condition. The MLRR has recently acquired another E60 which it plans to modify and convert to an E60MA, much like the current E60 in service. This requires that the locomotive receive one of the 600 series numbers (excluding 609) and preferably an even number.

On the MLRR website is a poll that I created requesting your input as I've narrowed down the possible numbers to 3 of the 13 prototype road numbers that remained in service until 2003 with the additional two options being general options on what to do with the locomotive.

The poll can be accessed via the link in the signature.

I appreciate and look forward to your input!

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I know this forum already has a poll feature but by putting the pole on my website, it will be easier to track it rather than loosing it in thread.
