In transit means they have been shipped by the factory (in Bachmann's case this means China) and are somewhere between there and Walthers. This means the items have been made and are on the way but there is no definite timetable.

has anyone ordered steam or diesel locomotives from walthers that online are listed as being "in transit" and received them in a reasonable amount of time? want to buy Bachmann's unlettered low boilered 4-6-0 and unletterered yellow 44 tonner. they each are listed as in transit. anyone have an idea how long of a time that could mean and did you have to wait long for your in transit item to show up or might it be a long wait to get the 4-6-0?
