Selector is right, if you give more specific info as to what you have (scale, brand, steam or diesel, etc) we can be more help. Cleaning and lubrication can vary GREATLY just based on these parameters.

First things first, jamurphy. Welcome to our big family!!! Glad you could make it!

Labelle's makes oils and grease compatible with any plastics your old trains might have in them, and so does Hob-E-Lube (Woodland Scenics, I believe). You can get them on-line or at your Local Hobby Stores ('LHS' in this forum).

what type of cleaning, lubricating, etc type products should i get for my model trains. i have an old electric train that my father got as a child and it is in really good shape, but it hasn't been used in ages.
