Code 70 is close to 90lb mainline line in the Steam era. It was cut into lenth's to fit onto 40 flat cars for transportation.
So 4 1/2" (4.6") would be appropriate. I ''notch' my fextrack every 4" - 5" to simulate.

I have some spare lengths of code 70 rail which I would like to place for trackside decoration around my layout. I would like to know what is the length of prototype rail? TIA.
