Looking for modelers in Phoenix Arizona
Posted by canazar on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 1:43 AM
Howdy everyone.

I had some halfbaked idea (My fiancee gave me the idea actually) of trying to get together a group of modelers together here in the Phoenix area with home based HO layouts. Or even N scalers too. I cant be the only one?

Maybe get a group togethers and do a monthly get together for ideas at a food joint or maybe a round=robin deal at folks layouts. Compare notes on control systems, share techniques on scenery, painting etc. Or if someone needs a hand for day we can have a group to call on. I guess put together a support group for us train crazed hobbyists. Well if you are in the area and would like to contact me give me an email at

canazar@aol.com [8D]

I have been looking aorund trying to track down folks and have given up so I thought Id try this... Hope to hear from you.

Best regards
John k

John--obviously I'm not in Phoenix, but I have an e-mail buddy who is, and has said that he's looking for other model railroaders in the area. His tag on the forum is AC4400fan, but his e-mail is carlselke@hotmail.com. You might get hold of him--I know he's started a garage layout and is doing some nice stuff with it.
Hope this helps.

Hey John,
I'm just up I 17. How far do you want to travel?
I just joined the Central Arizona model railroad club, here's their web site.

Have you checked out the The Arizona Model Railroading Society at Adobe Mountain railroad park?

There's a few in the Valley and one of the master senior modelers is the great Bill Wanney but he
doesn't frequent this forum.

Tom thanks for the lead. I think though that I allready tried emailing him once though a few days ago. I saw that he was very close to me in fact. I dont wanna bug him, but if you talk to him, maybe give him a lead and see if is interested.

Thanks Tom!
