Replacement Underframe for Bachmann HO (Toy Train) 42' Gondola

I would like replace the underframe on my BACHMANN HO 42' gondola. Would the ATHEARN 40' flatcar underframe work for this car. If it does I am going to convert the couplers to KADEE. The original toylike BACHMANN 42' gondola underframe is trash since it is not designed for easy conversion to ATHEARN trucks and KADEE couplers. David Briel
