Tomas -

I had the same question recently and couldn't find a "blue" for my backdrop that was satisfactory. It's amazing how many colors of blue there are. I searched threads on backdrops and read some of the articles in MR about blending blue at the top with white/gray near the bottom and wasn't satisfied. Commercial backdrops work but are really expensive -- at least the good ones are. What I came up with turned out to be an extremely simple solution and one which provided a realistic blue hue that I was searching for. I simply took a picture of the horizon on a clear day, enlarged it on the computer, and took it to Home Depot, where they color matched it for me on their computer and mixed the paint. Turned out that even then it was too dark and had to be diluted with more white. The result, however, was quite satisfactory. You still might want to dilute it closer to the horizon, but at least the color is right. It's amazing to me how much this hobby teaches us to notice the little things around us and to really appreciate the subtleties of nature and our surroundings. Good luck.

Background sky -any color but blue. I'm looking for a warmer color than blue. Has any one used any color than blue, such as a light hazy grey ? If so please tell me what paint color .I have tried several and can not find one that looks good. Thanks for your help. Tomas in the mountains.
