What is/are Hogwarts?

With all the posting about hogwarts on here, I had to do a google search. Is it a fictional railroad from Harry Potter? Is that what everyone is always referring to?

Yup, it's the fictional RR from Harry Potter. A forum member (Spacemouse) is modeling it as if it really exists. He's doing a supurb job too! Keep it up Chip![^]

There is a series of books and movies about Harry Potter. Harry is a young wizard and the books cover his going to wizards school. The name of the school is Hogwarts. The students ride a train to the school called the Hogwarts Express. It has a steam engine and set of cars in red. Bachmann has produced a model version.

Enjoy

The Hogwarts engine used in the movie was a Hall Class. The story is a lot of UK rail buffs were a little ticked when the movie crew tarted up a nice engine with scarlet. I understand it's back to it's correct color (colour). Google '5972 Hall' and you should see more about the engine used in the movie.

Tarting up the hall got more kids interested in trains that any single action in recent history. My kid was one of them and as a result I have become interested in modeling.

Hey - even the finest actors and actresses get make-up. If they can draw kids into the Worlds Greatest Hobby, - More power to them.
I tried searches as sugested. Zip. Nada. Had better luck: "Hogwarts Train", Images

I tried what I suggested and found many links. These links also provided the values of Olton Hall and Hogwarts Express that could be used on other searches. Many nice pictures, lots of history, current location, enough to chew up an evening on a slow dial-up. Also, I mentioned an opinion expressed on the web, not mine. My railroad includes the Hogwarts Express, Percy, the new Irish engine, a Weyerhauser Shay and an F45 among other things. I buys what I likes including engines not in proper color. Count me in among the kids. Being grown up is highly overrated.
