They released it awhile back, I havn't seen any reviews. Train world is selling them. What does anyone who runs them have to say? Dan

I heard they run good, but apparently installing dcc is a pain.

This has already been discussed on this forum, do a search on "critter" and hopefully you will find it. From what I recall the socket for the DCC decoder is wired wrong, it will blow the decoder if installed. It has to be repaired somehow. I have the Critter, got it from Trainworld for $49.99, but I don't do DCC and I've only run it back and forth on my test track so far. Neat engine!

Great engine, there was a pretty long thread on this topic before, might search for it. As for the DCC, It has an 8 pin plug so that part is easy, the problem is that the diodes are reversed on the light board. So just tear it out and rewire the lights yourself. No big deal. It is the slowest engine I have, It crawls like nothing else. You wont be dissapointed.

Saw one run on the LHS's test track, wow! Amazing. DCC issues already mentioned - TCS has a good photo series on their web site about fixing it. You will probably need to power switch frogs, with that short 4-wheel wheelbase, I suspect it will stall on dead frogs, at least at low speed. No fault of MDC's, there's not much you can do with a short and tiny engine.

Thanks, guys. I'll look for the thread. I dont run DCC, and I do have all powered switch frogs, so it sounds like it could be a fun little loco to run. Dan
