I'm back in business!

Hi, everyone. New computer works marvelously, and I'm back reading your posts.

Also, my Whalther's turntable is inset and landscaped, and only needs a miracle to get the motor to turn the bridge properly. Motor's fine, just a bad design in the pivot; needs a proper bushing or bearing to keep it from wobbling. Any ideas?

Digitrax SEB is up and running, and I got my P2K 0-6-0 back with decoders and sound. Weathered the loco, but goofed up by spraying Dull-coat all over the wheels. (Duh!) Careful application of Goof-Off sorted that problem out and I'm back in business.

Catch you at the next siding.

Randy, thanks for your reply on EZ-track turnouts. The SEB seems to like 'em.

Tom, thanks for your reply when I signed off, Bud.

Glad you're back in business, Crandell. Sounds like you had a productive week or so.

Crandell,

Welcome back! Good to have you on board again, my friend! Smile [:)]

Two things. The first: on your turntable woes. I read a post briefly yesterday about someone you had success rehabilitating their Walthers 90' turntable. Don't know if this will address you issues, but here's the link:

Secondly, Crandell, let me know how you like your P2K 0-6-0. I been eying that one, as well as the P2K 0-8-0, and the Stewart VO-660. At some point, I'd like to add another switcher to my yard.

Again, good to have you back. What kind of computer did you end up with?

Thanks for the welcome back, Mark and Tom.

Sony VAIO with 200 gigs, 3.0 gig processor, 512 DDR RAM, and a BenQ 17" LCD screen. Very slick.

Speaking of slick, I absolutely love my Heritage 0-6-0, Tom. It is very nicely detailed, with marvelous valve gear. It runs smoothly and quietly, It is a very light loco, and will pull about 4-5 weighted cars on good level track. As soon as you get a grade, you'll have to drop a car for every 0.5%. I require it to push 2 ore cars up a 3.6% grade, and with the newly added stuff in the tender, it spins partly where it used to manage the two cars.

I think you will be quite happy with it, as long as you don't expect to be moving too many cars.

Sounds like a nice set up, Crandell. That's pretty much identical to mine - expect for a smaller drive (80 GB) and a slightly larger (19") LCD monitor. Wow! Web pages load a lot faster than on my old one. There more legible, too.
