One problem with modeling a wreck is that plastic just does not act like metal. I bought a ruined Varney metal box car at a swap meet for a buck and it is thin steel -- it can be bent and gouged like the real thing. I also found a thin metal kit for a two bay hopper (thin steel not the heavy Ulrich castings). I am not sure who made this model but I suspect it dates from the early 1950s. Problem is, they are both so neat that I also have this idea that I can put them back into running shape. One more project on the pile!

As someone who loves him some rusted sidings with old rusted junk on them I'd support this venture.

You left out floor plunges and CATastriphies.[swg]

Enjoy

Cool new "Basic" MRR book - Your thoughts on contributing

Hi all,

I was looking at the store book racks and I noticed several "Basic this", "Basic that", more "Basic blah, blah" (I am not making fun of basics - have quite a few [:D])

So I thought... let's get together and write "Basic Train Wrecks for Model Railroaders"

Just think of the neat stuff and kit bashing one can do[:-,]. Examples include:

Boiler Explosions, Telescopes, Head-ons, Bridge Disasters, etc.

Hope this adds a few laughs to your railroading days (daze) [(-D]
