It's probably a blue-white LED. Are you running it on DC or DCC. The light gets whiter on DCC. Since it's an LED, get one of the golden white LEDs to replace it if you can find one. Be sure you get the polarity correct if you try to replace the existing LED. It would be best to check polarity with a voltmeter before you remove the old LED because if this locomotive is like most, the wires to the headlight are not color coded.

Just get a golden white LED. Plugs right in and looks 100% better. You do have to loosen, not take apart, the engine halves and slide it out and back in.
What could have happened.... did.

My Heavy Mountain came with a blue LED for the headlight. Since I don't think that is a prototype color, any suggestions on a replacement? Either LED or incadesent. Thanks in advance.
