thank you all for the advise given. I have just purchased a NIB undecorated version of my locomotive. At least I hope I did. I will let you know when UPS arrives. Thanks again,
Nathan

Pretty sure it's an Atlas made by Roco. When you say "body", do you mean just the shell? - or your "body" includes the mechanism an wheels.? If the later, some MV lenses or clear styrene 'rod' can replace the lenses, and the McHenry couplers should replace the original 'horn hook's'. Chances are it still runs.

ATLAS has just reissued the SD-24 from a different maker, and is now offering low hood version's. A LHS can help you locating any easy parts.

That's a tough question Nathan. It's been long out of production for sure if it's Austrian. If you don't find the answer you're looking for here in a day or so, bump up your post to the top again by simply hitting the edit button in your posting and then "submit changes". It might take some time before the right person with the info you seek to see your question.

What is it you want to do with the shell? If you want a chassis ( it has been already said) time to time they come up on eBay. It's also a good reason to go to train shows.
Good luck and if there is any other questions, ask. We do our best to help.

Sounds similar to an old SD-35 I have from my childhood. It would be an Atlas, and the Austrian reference usually infers it was mfg by Roco for Atlas. Availability is long gone. Mine is from the 60's. Your best bet is like stated before, look around on ebay from time to time, might also check shows.

You should be able to find one on e-Bay. Search for SD24, SD-24, Atlas HO or Atlas Locomotive.

You can put your shell on the mechanism you buy and salvage the missing parts.

Hello All,

I was going through some stuff from my past the other day and I found all of my HO railroad set. As a kid I was really good at taking things apart and losing parts. Eighteen or so years later things have changed.

I have a Union Pacific SD24 high hood loco #416 with "Dependable Transportation" On the side. Also Black handrails and gray air tanks. I only have the body. No couplers, lenses or name of manufacturer. Researching the net, I think I have narrowed it down to an Atlas (Austrian) stock #7002.

I would like to know if anyone has any information, preferably pictures history and/or availability on this item. Thank you in advance. Nathan
