Marc_Magnus as you learn more details about this loco please share it with us on this forum. I have looked into this locomotive and have tried to share information as I have learned about it. I will reiterate that I would only buy it from a hobby shop I trusted and you should definately try it before you buy it. I am hoping Model Railroader will review it. They were fairly accurate in their review of the Life Like/ Heritage Berkshire including its most serious shortcoming (It does not pull well at all.) Thanks!

We recently had a thread discussing these on this forum. Here's a link to the thread:

Also on the Bachmann forum, they have said that they have resolved the undergauging problems with their manufacturer, have received new shipments of locos, and as always they are prepared to exchange any that are undergauged.
I will say their warranty is pretty good, they recently replaced (instead of fixing) a Spectrum 2-8-0 that I had which was undergauged. Of course it's preferable to get a good one the first time, so I think that your best bet is still to buy through a local hobby shop where you can test it out before taking it home.

'Tis a Spectrum 2-6-6-
2
, there's been an extensive discussion on these over at the Atlas N Scale forum. Just do a search on "2-6-6-2" for details.

I am ready to buy a Bachmann Spectrum articulated 2-6-6-4 but I have read and heard a lot of problems with them .
Is that right and what are the problems?
Can we correct them?
Thanks
Marc
