Thanks, I'm going to look into those. I do like the "fustration" of building kits. [:D]

Welcome back and to the forum.

While i do like detailing up a good Athearn kit, for plain ole' enjoyment (or frustration) I recommend a Proto 2000, Intermountain or Branchline kit. Much higher level of difficulty and detail...and really small parts.

It's been about 8 years now since I have even touched a model RR and I'm glad to be getting back into it. Looks like a good bunch of guys here so I'm going to start off with a newbie question. I just recieved an Athearn 1309 50' DD Auto Box Car. I love to detail my rolling stock to the max, but I've been gone for so long I can't seem to find anything on these cars or what accessories to get. Could someone please point me in the right direction? In the future what is a good brand of rolling stock to buy. I want very bare kits that I can detail. Seems to me that the Athearn cars have a little to much already attached to the car. Thanks for reading and I look forward to any responses. [:)]
