The McHenry coupler is what I have put on some of my Bachmann's. It will fit in the pocket well. You will find that the McHenry and the Bachmann EZ-mate are strikeingly similar. But I agree, the model with the metal spring will last longer and perform better for you. MCH51 is the type used on mine.

If the Bachmann coupler pocket is too narrow for a Kadee centering spring, use a McHenry coupler instead. Just make sure you get the McHenry with the metal knuckle spring and not one of their really cheap ones with the plastic spring that doesn't work.

Many Bachmann coupler boxes are not deep enough after you install the Kadee metal spring. The Bachmann coupler uses the plastic ears for centering. Sometiimes the cover can be filed off to give more clearance. This was true on the shay and climax.

There's no KD listing for a Spectrum GP 35 but there is one for the Bachmann Plus series.http://www.kadee.com/conv/pdf/b27.pdf

Got a Bachmann Spectrum GP 35 @ a train show for a good price. I use Kadee couplers on all my equipment. Can't seem to figure out which Kadee to install on this one or even how to do it. I've looked at all the Kadees in their catalog and am still puzzled. Anyone out there who can help??
