Identical experience!! better to spend some time searching the web for very good deals and forgetting about parking, entrance fees, and driving 3.5 hours back home.
But I'll very gladly drive to the coming Train Fair in Syracuse..uuhh yes, is that Fair something..loads after loads of good stuff.

I did not attend the Chicago show, but I recently attended a GATS show with two friends and we were all really disappointed. A couple of years ago they had great layouts and vendors with specialized products (scenery, etc.) This year the layouts were not very well done, and the vendors were asking top dollar (sometimes more than MRSP) for a limited variety of merchandise. It definitely was not worth the $7 admission price.

After going to the Chicago Hobby Show I found that this one was the most disappointing show I have ever attended. It was not worth paying any money for. Have any of you attended this year and what was your reaction?
