Sunday Photo Fun
Posted by AggroJones on Saturday, April 2, 2005 11:33 PM
I finally got some shots that include my backdrop.

The upper lines need ballasting.

I wasn't satisfied with the ballast colors on the finished lower lines, so I chipped it up and vacummed it away. So that track needs to be done again.

As you can see, I'm making progress. I can't wait 'til I get to the fine scenic detailing aspect. (small weeds, man made items, figures, animals) Ohhhhhhh, so exciting! [8D]

As usual, Aggro, you don't show photos as much as you show works of art! That's some really beautiful modelling.
Didn't take any photos this week, as I've ended up doing far more trackwork again, but here's some that the guys on the Coffee Shop liked, after you all helped me learn how to post. I took them last week--try and take some more this coming week.

Here's the first half of my On30 4x8. Finally ready to build a few structures.

There will be an oil transfer at the gondola and a stock pen at the far corner siding.

AggroJones

You can't put pictures like that on the session and then expect evryone to rush putting theirs up. You should start with one not-so-good out-of-focus picture and work up to the good stuff.

Very nice work. [:D]

Nothing Glamourous. I painted track. Can you tell there are three very different kinds of track here.

This is my answer to GrandFunkRailroad, I guess.

Black EZ Track Steel
Grey EZ Track NS
Atlas 100, Flex and Sectional

Carl: GO FOR IT!! Neat photos.
Here's one I took this afternoon, after I went out and bought a couple of those new Woodland Scenics 'auto scenes'.

Officer Mezger has just pulled the Mayor's son over for speeding in front of Ma's Place, the local--er--'establishment' just out side of Sierra City. That's Ma leaning on the front porch watching everything, while the mayor's son's best friend creeps slowly by in his new Ford ragtop.

I am finally in the finishing touches of completing the small Fairbanks-Morse coaling tower that I've been working on for the last 3 months off and on. What a project it has been but I'm fairly pleased with the outcome. Once I'm done, I'll take a few pictures and have some ready for next week's Photo fun...

Late Post, but better late than never! I had to wait on RailImages to come back alive.
I can see that many of you have been busy and have done some excellent work. It helps me to find the courage to start on my scenery.

I needed a boiler house for my engine service facility and the Model Power Gold Refinery seemed to fit the order. As you can see, I made a few modifications to the otherwise Toy looking kit.

Rex--what a super adaptation! Nice job. BTW, is the roundhouse a kit or scratch? and if a kit, what brand? Looks really good, and I'm going to need one in the future, when I get the next extension built.

Thanks Tom. Sometimes you gotta do, whatcha gotta do. [;)][:D]
The Roundhouse is the Walthers', 3 stall, #933-3041. It's a well designed kit and easy to build. 3 stalls fit my needs, but it is expandable to a full circle if you want.

Great work!

Sorry I'm late.......I guess railimages had some issues yesterday..

First pic is the engine house I'm working on. Started as a Walthers back shop kit I had on my last layout

Here's a shot of the nearly complete St Lawrence and Atlantic GP40-3 (GP40X). The unpainted wall castings were done this weekend from a mold I made.

And a bit of pooled New England power...Maritime GP38-2, Guilford GP40-2L and the SLR GP40-3. The current engine house behind them is scheduled for demolition to make way for a new small intermodal facility. The engine house above will replace it on the other side of the tracks in the GP40-3 picture.

Dan and Rex, sweet jobs on those loco houses. Large brick buildings always look great when weathered properly. [tup]
