If all else fails, and you want the best operating coupler, cut off the existing box and mount a #5 in it's own box. The only trouble you may encounter is proper coupler height. May have to shim or have to use an overset or underset knuckle.

Emailed McHenry for advise on which coupler to use. They have some for Rivarossi but don't specifically mention centipede tenders. If you know the type let me know. If not, I will post when I hear back from them.

I once fitted a kaydee and it's box onto a brass plate that contained airhoses etc and put a very very big screw thru the bottom. Everything kinda fit. Last I heard it's still on there. In a few weeks I should have a picture of it.

hanklalonde,

You ill probably find it much easier to use one of the special McHenry couplers that plugs into the Rivarossi link just like Rivarossi couplers do. It's the only application of McHenry couplers I use but it is unbeatable. Making a Kadee fit will mess up the model and may not work well anyway.

HO is correct. Should have remembered Kadee's web page. Good diagrams and explanations. Now all I have to do is complete the job.
Thanks

[?] Has anyone changed the horn hook couplers on a Riv. centipede tender to Kadee? Would really appreciate knowing how to do this.
Thanks, Hank
