MR design software

I am going to be buying some layout design software. I have narrowed my choice down to either 3rd PlanIt or Cadrail. The kicker is I want to use it to design buildings too. Anybody out there have any exsperience using either of these tools for this?

Good evening;
I use and like Cadrail. I tried 3rd plant's Demo, but found Cadrail a little easier to learn and use. The 3-d feature I don't use. I addition to track planiong, I've used Cadrail to design cars, structers and a Bird house for my daughter.
