who makes the cheapest loco for HO scale? would prefer a FTA B&O but others are ok. it just needs to be able to pull 3-5 50' cars.

Try the Walthers Trainline series, they're cheap but work pretty well. For an FT, you might find one in an Athearn blue-box kit, or look on ebay.

In fact, here's a Bachmann FT-A in B&O paint for six bucks....[:D]

You need something that's 16 oz or better, dual flywheels. Some of the P1K's also have merit.

Trainworld has a bunch of different locos in the $19-29 range--some quite good engeines. Careful though. I picted up a switcher for $29 and not it is my favorite loco.
