Warning on DCC in the Critter - the diarctional lighting diodes are installed INCORRECTLY and will blow the function outputs on a decoder if you just plug it in. The TCS web site has pictures of how to fix it and install a decoder.

A little trick I got from someone else - Testor's Dullcote will frost clear plastic windows neatly.

I just got mine this week. It's hard to compare an itty bitty 3 inch long engine to the monsters made by Kato and Spectrum. It is made in China, so the quality appears to be good. The diagram shows a central motor with flywheels at both ends. It has white LED headlights at both ends, and they come on in the direction the engine is going.

There is a DCC socket in the cab with a dummy plug, and the instructions tell you how to remove it. My only real gripe is the windows are all nice and clear and the DCC plug and other electronics are really visible in the cab. Mine was painted black with white handrails and white stripes on the ends. If I repaint it I will probably tint the windows so the innards aren't so visible. It comes with Kadee clone couplers.

All in all I'm pretty satisfied with it, especially since I got it on sale at Trainworld for $49.99! (List price is around $82.00 I think).

The description sounds good but l'd like to hear someone who owns one.
How good is it compared to Kato? Spectrum? How compatible is if for DCC?
