I"M not seeing any posts on this forum about this superb new sound equipped diesel from Atlas, now widely available, I got mine, and love it, the detail, running qualities, and sound system are excellent. If anyone has them, what do you think?

Actually, I'm trying to find it because it's a beauty. So far, no luck but I'll really be happy to find a ATSF version.

eh some have problems, mine had a faulty PC board so i replaced that, you gotta use CV29 to take out the analog programming so it wont do what so many others say it does. What it does is, the sound volume will go up and down, and it will move on its own for about 2 feet or so, the ditch lights are way to blue, but i have fixed all the problems, and really like this loco, i wont buy another but i like this one.

I found some of the 8-40CW sound equipped Santa Fe versions on Ebay and purchased one today on the Buy now because they are not easy to find. If you watch Ebay, several dealers still have one or two so Good Luck .
First Hobbies have the unnumbered ones listed as coming in soon, but most dealers have sold out. Caboose Hobbies had one of the unnumbered units on their web page, but it might be gone by now.

I was not aware that the sound equipped Atlas 8-40CW were available yet? The guy from Atlas tolld me that they would be available in April. If they are out now then that is cool and I have to get me a UP one asap.

I Just checked the MB Kein website (http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/manufacturer/atlasenginesho.html?scale=ho), only the Santa Fe ones are available with DCC & sound.

Although I've seen the CSX version in stores ( I also need a Sante Fe ) The one's i was waiting for was the SD-24 and these units were advertized before the DASH - 8's. My question is? has anyone seen other deisels from atlas out there from ATLAS other then the Trainmaster and DAsH 8's ? thanks to all Tom

Saw one these at the Suncoast Model Railroad club.

Wow! Beautiful detailing and the sound was incredibly dynamic!

Top Notch! [C):-)][tup]

I bought my first one last week, and immediately ordered the second. Had the hobby shop guy test run it before taking it home. I had heard a lot of negatives on the Yahoo forums, so I am being cautious with this one. This one looks like a winner, however, so bring on the SD24's.
