The MESS has Diesels (Installation of LEDs)

Thought I'd share these with you. These are Proto 1000 RDC 1's. They come with shaded glass windows and incandecesent headlights. Dad fell in love with these and said "it's too bad you can't see inside them". Well Dad you can! I used three superbright white LEDs for the accomadations and installed two LEDs (one white and one red) in both ends and here are the results! BTW this took me the whole day! So I won't claim any bragging rights.

Dad's now looking to get a third one [:-^]

Regards
Fergie

Hey, Fergy, you did all right. Now maybe Dad won't be so quick to dismantle your overpass.

It took me a couple of days to successfully convert my P2K S1 over to DCC AND change the 1.5v bulbs to LED's. It was my DCC first conversion and I had to isolate the motor, as well as learn the ins and outs of DCC.. (I must have rattled off a half dozen e-mails to Randy - aka rrinker.) It works great and boy am I glad I changed to LED's. There is NO comparison! The back wall of my basement just lights up everytime either the S1 or 2-8-2 come around the bend.

With all that light in there, your seated passengers can now read MR.

Fergie, they look good! Congrats on getting them switched over and the LEDs in. No wonder your Dad likes them, they're really good looking.
Enjoy,

Fergie,

You've got bragging rights! Excellent! An additional plus is that the lighting looks floursecent, just as in the prototypes!

Please tell us step-by-step the how you proceeded. I've got a P1K NH RDC that's going to get your treatment!

Thanks![:D][8D][tup]
