I beleive that Hornby, who purchased the remains of Rivarossi, has already stated that the products will all be made in China in the future, as are the current Hornby offerings in Europe.

Yeah, Where else, on trees?

Sorry Bob. I'm not mocking you, it's just this is the current state of our hobby. If Rivarossi had made their Locos in China they still might be in business.

Rivarossi from China!
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 5:32 AM
Just received yesterday some Rivarossi skeleton log cars from Trainworld. They offer them for $19.99 a pair, listed at $29.99. Real nicely detailed with brakelines, air hoses, log loads, and chains to keep the logs on. They came in a bright red box like their Heisler that I received recently too.

What surprised me was that it said "Made in China" on the bottom! I had no idea that Rivarossi had models made in China. These models are of course from before Rivarossi went bankrupt. I imagine all of their models in the future will come from China.

Learn something new every day! [:D]
