I have found a great way to lube my N-scale locos& rolling stock. My brother is a dieabetic he gave me 2 of his syringes(un used) they work great for all the tight spots and no mess. Just remember to keep them locked up.

yup...in fact some of the lubes that can be purchased for locos come with a syringe like thingy

Careful that you don't overdo it, though. The amount that an ordinary sewing needle will hold is quite enough.

These are also good for applying a bit of alcohol to various electrical contacts on turnouts, etc., I have found.
