Grandson train came in today. It is a SW8/900/600 Locomotive is there different size in HO? It seem to be smaller than his other locomotive. We are new at this so any help will be appreciated thank you.

the sw 8 was a small locomotive and usually most companies do build the models to the exact 1:87 HO scale if you did purchase it in HO scale...if i put my SW1500 up against say, my EMD SDMAC70 the difference in size is enormous...if you want the engines to look about the same in size then you'll have to purchase larger locomotives...I try to do it like this...I'll keep all EMD SD and or GE C units (six axle locomotives) together, and EMD GP, GE B, and SW switcher units (four axle locomotives) together so that the size difference doesn't look out of place...Chuck
