What happened to Magnuson Models, Inc? Did they go out of business? Magnuson is in the Walthers directory, but it is not in boldface, meaning that Walthers carries their products.

Magnuson became a part of the Walthers lineup back in the early 80's, the only items still being produced now in the Walthers cornerstone series are the 3 original Century Series buildings, I believe that would include Don's Shoe Store, Leviathan Mfg Co., The Gemini Building, I believe one other, after that, the original polyesther buildings were produced for a couple more years when Walthers took over the line, but they have been out of production for a number of years now, some of the original line has been brought back in plastic, Merchants Row's 1,2, and 3 are available from Walthers in their Cornerstone Series..............:o)

I seem to recall that it was Magnuson Models that had a model of Walthers' old Water Street store/factory -- a structure Walthers now offers in HO as a ready built structure (and rather a neat one at that).

Take a look at pages 623 to 625 of the 2002 Walthers HO scale catalog. Most of the old Magnuson models (but not all) are now made by Scale Structures Ltd. Walthers has converted some of these into plastic models.

I could be mistaken about this, but I believe the original founders of Magnuson started up DPM a few years after selling Magnuson. DPM, of course, is now located in Linn Creek, MO, (at the Lake of the Ozarks) along with Woodland Scenics.
I've got two of the original Magnuson models on my layout., Allens Wrenches and Burndouts Warehouse.
