I have the 4-8-4 CB&Q in HO scale by Bachmann and it has become one of my favorite locomotives.

Found it new in box on EBay before Christmas.

Not bad at all somtimes you can get good deals at trains shows.Afew yrs ago I happen to purchased a P2K GP-20 Loco for $30 (nib) not bad still have it also a Bachman spectrum GE-70 tonner for $25 (undec.) I made out pretty good.Sometimes you just have to shop around and it would'nt hurt to bring along some cash also to bargain with.

Nice haul. I'm with Tim on this one - we don't get many shows round here either, by the time I hear of them they've already happened. Ah well, there's a Fleischmann open day (basically a sales pitch for their models and DCC - I have a few questions to ask about fitting a decoder to the loco in my sig) at one of the mail order suppliers I deal with coming up on the 20th, and they're only about an hour away, so will definitely try to get to that - no mention of special deal prices for visitors but I could do with a few bits and pieces that aren't worthwhile mail ordering (assorted couplers at around 50p each) so it'll be worth the trip if they have those.

Nice.

You know what I notice? N scale always seems to be plentiful at every GATS. Tables and tables of freight, passengers cars, and steam locomotives. You can pick up enough stuff to build a 20 car freight train with motive power for under $100.

Nice finds

At the last GATS I was at I picked up a rare HOn30 Disneyland train from a Japanese Mfr. NIB engine and 3 NIB open passenger cars all for only $40, I sold the 3 cars the next week to a Disney Collector for $65! Kept the engine of course!

   Have fun with your trains
