i'm going to put working signals on my n scale layout. i have half of the track laid and 3/4 of that is already ballasted. i haven't decided where the signals will be and i wanted to get some scenery done too. so i will retro fit the signals after all the track is laid and the layout is totally running, ballasted and sceniced because i don't want to break any of them while working on the layout. you can do it anytime you want to though.
