Printing decals with an Alps printer
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, July 31, 2002 3:22 PM
2 questions about the Alps printer in regard to decal making:
1) How do I add a 5th ink cartridge to the Alps MD-1300 printer??? I need to add the white ink cartridge to the printer, but I cannot remove any of the stock ink cartridges in order to put the white one in. (The computer won't let me print when any of the stock cartridges in the printer are missing.)
2) Under what category does Micro-Mark decal paper fall?? (Is it laser paper, plain paper, etc???)

It sounds like you would have to do some major surgery to your printer. If you are just going to make some decals for your own use, I would take whatever images, artwork, etc. to a professional print shop. With you supplying the decal paper, and artwork, the cost should be well within reason. As for the settings, I would say, that given the somewhat glossy surface of decal paper, you would want to set the printer for "photo paper". If you are intent on using your own printer, contact the manufacturer about some kind of up-grade kit.
Hope this helps, Todd C.
