The GP20D is the redesignation of the MK/MPI 2000D switchers, similiar to the MK1500s rebuilt from older units.

Kaslo shops has a MK1500 resin shell on their homepage in in the "upcoming products section" http://www.kasloshops.com

Or you can do like I did for my GG20B Green Goat project and scratchbuild a shell using an Athearn GP9 chassis. The second generation of GG20B is very similiar in basic appearance to the MK/MPI/GP 15/20s. The basic cab, body and nose are the same, but doors, fans, etc differ.

Here's a link to that project. http://www.railroadforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6436

I doubt anyone is going to make a third generation switcher until one becomes popular with railroads. Give it a couple years, personally my money is on the Green Goats, but this looks interesting as well.

Anyone know if GE is planning a gen-3 switcher?

How different is the GP20D from a GP20? If it's not to terribly horrible the P2K GP20 is a good runner and since it's a bit older you can usually pick them up fairly inexpensivly. Rob
