Just got my Birthday Present...
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, March 7, 2005 9:42 AM
Lucky me. My birthday is not until tomorrow, but we celebrated on Sunday. My wife surprised me with a beautiful Canadian National GP-7 /w DCC encoder. It's in original Green and Gold colours, road number 1706. I was blown away. It is the version with the braking extension on the top of the shell. Made by Atlas, and I love it!

I immediately cleared the tracks of all the foam, tools and other random construction clutter, and ran it...bringing all contruction to a halt for the last half of the day yesterday. It ran smooth as glass. My plans for those few hours were suddenly in shambles. Nothing like operations to bring contruction to a halt.[:p]

I just wanted to share my joy with you guys, because I told some guys at work who aren't train enthusiasts and they're reactions were less than enthusiastic. Only my model railroading friends will appreciate...and share my joy. Woot!!!

Happy belated Birthday Trevor!

Great Wife indeed! I always thought it was enough for a wife to allow one the space, time, energy, and money to persue this hobby. But one smart enough to get you something that you wanted and with Quality to boot! What a catch!

Enjoy BOTH your Wife and the new Loco!

[bday][bday] TREVORG

Your work stoppage is something I can well understand. I know better than applying power to my track during work sessions or the tools will hit the bin.

The GP7 sounds like a jewel. I have two Atlas SD24's on order and hopefully will get them next month...maybe...soon...sometime...whenever.[:D][:D]

May I suggest getting her a lobster cooker, a tank of propane and a couple of Maine's finest? Yeah, you'll end up doing all the work, but if your wife gets you a Loco with sound, she deserves the best. Get a pound or 2 of steamers (clams, not BLI's) and let your layout take the night off.

By the way, my birthday is Wednesday. I'm looking for the R-17 Redbirds with the silver roof...

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Cool!! My birthday is next Tuesday, the 15th. I won't hold my breath for my wife to buy me a new loco for my b-day. She says I'm a train junkie, and she's not going to "feed" my habit. That's OK though, I conned my Mom into buying me a locomotive. She even picked up a couple of cars for my Grandmother to give to me..................................[:-^]but I didn't tell you that[:-^]...........OK?.........in case she asks you.......[:D]LOL[:D] [:D]LOL[:D] Keep your wife, at least for your next two or three lives!!!!! If she asks, I'll take an HO Atlas GP-38 in Maine Central livery.......or two. hahahahahaha
