Lots of good work displayed in this post. I wish everyone would get back into Photo fun and show off their skills. I really enjoy seeing other's work and believe that most of us do.

It pulls the best out of all my engines on the home layout--but I expect the 4-6-0 MDC to out pull it simply because it is much heavier. Runs pretty good a low speeds too.

This is a Spectrum Doodlebug waiting for a BLI heavy Mike with an asphalt train in tow to clear the double crossover at the west end of Laurel, for it's own trip to Cody Wyoming.


This is the new control panel for the NP Mainline loop on the layout. The panel is on a chromed metal kitchen rack with casters, so it can be rolled out of the way.

Hey, guys, neat work. Like the boxcar, Aggo--if I ever (hah!) get all of my bridges installed, I'd like to try some weathering. I'll keep your thread for reference, right alongside your furnace-filter pines (which I start day after tomorrow--FINALLY!).

Spacemouse--that little 4-4-0 looks so COOL with that paint scheme! How does it run? Usually those IHC locos are pretty smooth.

Jon--you found an SP VALLEY MALLET! Congratulations, most Espee fans would kill for that little Mogul.

Hopefully, I'll have some new pics on my website come next Sunday--as soon as I get finished with Rock Creek Gorge.

Thanks.
After washing vandyyke brown water color/ alcohol mix over the entire body, I speckled each side of the car with tubed, concentrated water color pigment. Random dots of different colors--ochre yellow, indian red, raw umber, and charcoal black. The next step ties it together. I take a damp, long bristle soft brush and work it horizontally along the body. The colors were blended on the surface. I was sure not to blend them to the point where it just looked like one shade of brown on the car. [^]

There are 4 engines going into the Hogwarts Freight and Ferry. I'm planning on waiting until they are all ready then decaling them all at once. (Saving decal paper.)
