Not one million miles but it is a bit southwest of Houston. It's between Sugarland and Houston. It's a great local show with a lot of good buys. One of the clinics is going to be taught by one of our club members. He's doing DCC for dummies. I've been to it many times and praise it to everyone I talk to.

I would love to go! [:(] But I live on the other side of Texas. (El Paso). With this crazy schedule at work and family time it's hard. I went to the GATS show in Waco, back in 96. I would like to met all you fellow Texans, as well as all you hobbiest on this forum. But for now I'm satisfied by sending my thoughts and opinions on this forum. You guys have fun!!

March 12 the T&P RR reopens. Trying to get one of their two steamers up. If not, power willbe a diesel. If you go, ask for Ben. Tell him the "Grouch" told you about it.

Teffy,

thanks for the info. Unfortunately that's a little outside my radius right now. Great to see you here - I've been rather busy the last few weeks and am catching up.

two more weeks...i can't wait!...oh by the way to be more specific it's on Cash Rd. at the convention center in Stafford...The SJMRRC is a very big club and they should have lots and lots of stuff to look at and to buy...been saving my dimes in a piggy bank and plan on spending all of them on some great stuff...i ususally purchase speciality tools at these events because they are hard to find...one item: a new pin vise and bits, and i think i'm going to go all out on prbuilt electronic stuff and structures at this one...(my kids have left home now and i can afford a lot of the stuff i couldn't in the past)..it's gonna be like a kid in a candy store with a carte blanc from daddy warbucks!...(and who says you can't spend it all in one place?... ;) Chuck

from Lubbock take U.S. 87 until you reach IH 10 in Comfort, Texas..take IH 10 East until you you hit Loop IH610 in Houston, Tx...take IH610 south until you hit U.S. 59..take U.S. 59 south to the Murphey road exit (FM1092,) go south 1.8 miles to Cash Rd..take a left on Cash rd and there it is! Chuck,
Thanks for the directions! Unfortunately I think this one will not be doable this year, but I'll keep my eyes and ears peeled for the date next year. If I go next year I'll look for the guy with the same kid in the candy store look that I have and then introduce myself to you!. Any hobby that makes folks act like this has to be great!
