3% = 3 in. rise for 100 in. run,
OR 1 in. rise for 33-1/3 in. run.

Elevation in N

I want to put an upper level on my layout to have more room but I'm not sure how much higher to put it and what track elevation to use to get the trains up their. If I use a 3% grade how long of a run would be needed to go up for every inch higher it is.
Thanks Jay
