This is one of the things that attracted me to the Zephyr in the first place was the knowledge that I can add this capability later if I feel the need.

Yes, the Zephyr can control turnouts provided you install stationary decoders like DS54's, Switch-It's, and the like to your switch machines.

No, you have to install stationary decoders on your switch machines on your layout and connect them to your track buss. Your Zephyr has a button marked "SWITCH". When you press that, you enter the switch number you've programmed into the stationary decoder, then press the "c" or "t" buttons to clear or throw the switch.

The Zephyr supports all LocoNet accessories, including the new signal system. However, to run the signal system requires, IIRC, a computer to handle the logic.

You can get all the information you need on the Digitrax Zephyr at Digitrax.com. You can download all the manuals avalible for Digitrax's equipment in PDF format. It is my understanding that the Zephyr is compatable with all the systems usable withDCC. Turn-out control is performed with a stationary decoder, so turn outs are not plugged into the Zephyr, the turn-out control signal runs through the rails, just like the loco decoders.
