Help today i am going to try to ballast my track and i have everything down except for the glue. What i need to know is like how many parts water how many parts glue ect. So please help me. I am know a lot about trains but this is my first layout.

I do believe its 2 parts water one part elmers glue with a few drops of dish detergent

Standard mix would be 50/50 Elmer's white glue /water. Be sure you wet the ballast thoroughly with wet water before putting the glue mix on. Wet water can be either tap water with a few drops of liquid detergent added (just to break up surface tension) or an alcohol/water mix, or pure alcohol.

You'll probably get more suggestions, but there's a start for you.

Pretty much agree with above.
Watch for which "Elmer's" you get;the "School glue" is already
diluted some,where their regular 'white' glue is not.

And as far as mixture,with "Elmer's"; 50/50 is about right.
