Hi folks,..haven't been here in a week...got a really nasty flu bug and have been bed ridden since last Thursday...but i did manage to get a brand new Athearn Genesis UP EMD SD70MAC in the mail that my wife ordered for me as a Valentine's present and was just too ill to care about opening it..have any of you ever felt that way?...well, i finally got enough strength back by Friday and finally opened the package and i must say the new locomotive is one of the finest Locomotives i've ever owned...I was really impressed at the details and the locomotive runs superbly....it made me feel better!...anyway, I just want to type (can't say it..i've lost my voice).. that the Athearn Genesis Line are really nice locomotives...Chuck

Cw--your wife sounds like a gem! I think that new diesel will make you feel a whole lot better much quicker than aspirin and orange juice. Man, if she got you that for Valentines, just THINK of what you might be getting for Christmas, LOL!
Take care and get better. I think you just unwrapped your cure.

Wow, I'm going to show my wife this post, all I get for Valentines is a kiss and a card!!
Hope ya feel well soon, I know how you feel, I've had a real bad cold for 2 weeks and can't get rid of it. Felt bad enough to take a couple of days off from work, also had the Norwalk 2 months ago, no ambition at all to go downstairs and work on the layout.

Chuck,
Sorry to hear about your illness. Your wife could be related to mine! My birthday is Thursday, and she ordered a BLI GG1 from Standard Hobby for me. It's just too bad that I don't have a pike yet. I do, however, get to run things at guys houses who have layouts. I know that that Genesis will definitely help you to get better.
